Mark Lowrie

I’m Mark, Director and Owner of Twentysix Recruitment. My background is firmly rooted in the leisure and recruitment industries, with nearly 30 years of experience, including a decade overseas with Thomas Cook, eight years with a primary high-street recruiter, and — since 2013 — running Twentysix Recruitment. I’m driven by service and reputation, and I take my responsibilities here seriously (even if I don’t always take myself too seriously). I have a passion for people, forging relationships and providing excellent service. Outside of work, life is very much about being a dad to my twins, who keep me on my toes and remind me daily of what’s important. I like to stay active both in the gym and on the golf course (whenever I can squeeze it in!). I’ve put together a short bio of the team below. I could easily have gone on for pages, but I thought I’d spare you! The team is constantly evolving, and I’m incredibly proud of the brilliant work they do and the support they provide to one another and the wider business.

Megan Maclugash

Megan joined Twentysix back in 2016, stepping into the world of administration and recruitment for the first time. Fast-forward to today, and she’s now our Business & Finance Manager, leading her own team and keeping the wheels firmly on with her trademark attention to detail, methodical mindset, and unwavering need to understand everything that she does! Always pushing herself to grow, taking on new challenges, building her knowledge, and bringing her skills to the team, Megs is the cornerstone of our business operation. Outside of work, Meg is a foodie at heart with a “I’ll try anything once” approach to eating. Although it's been a while since we’ve sampled some of her legendary homemade cookies (hint, hint!) She’s also a firm believer that holidays are better when they’re adult-only, ideally somewhere peaceful, sunny, and completely free from screaming children! When she’s not avoiding child-based holidays, you’ll usually find her out on a long walk or hike with her partner, balancing out the snacks with some fresh air and exercise! These days, the pair are also settling into their first home, swapping carefree weekends for DIY jobs, garden centre trips, as they slowly wave goodbye to their youth!

Alan Rose

Alan joined Twentysix in 2014 as our very first employee, bringing with him an impressive pedigree in both recruitment and catering. A chef by trade, he spent around 18 years in kitchens, working his way up to Head Chef across contract catering, events, stadia, and education. From there, Alan swapped the stove for CVs, spending four years with a major high-street recruiter in their catering division before making the leap to Twentysix. Since then, Alan’s wealth of experience has been central to our service, driving growth and success for both clients and candidates. He has risen through the ranks of the business to become our Operations Manager — a hectic role that sees him wrangling the consultant team and keeping the day-to-day delivery of Twentysix on track (no small feat). Alan has been a constant since 2014, proving his worth time and again and continuing to challenge himself along the way. We’re hugely grateful to have him on the team… even if he still supports Liverpool. We honestly thought it was just a phase — turns out, apparently not.

Lucinda Walter

Lucie’s background in catering and hospitality goes right back to her teenage years — starting out in her local pub before moving on to the prestigious Canterbury Cathedral Lodge, where she helped run everything from intimate gatherings to high-profile events. Most recently, she served as Restaurant Manager at a fine-dining restaurant within a growing luxury hotel brand in Kent. Having recruited her own teams throughout her career, Lucie has a sharp eye for spotting great talent. She’s incredibly driven and, since joining us in 2022, has supported our clients and candidates in the North of the UK, as well as our national Public Sector business. Thanks to continued growth — and her own success — Lucie has been promoted to Senior Consultant, where she now leads her own team. All of this is even more impressive when you consider she’s also juggling a young (and still growing) family and a super-busy home life. Well done, Lucie — we’re so proud of everything you do and the energy you bring every single day. We’re just not quite sure how you manage it all, but you could join the circus with that kind of juggling.

Mallika Hanspal

Mallika joined the team in 2023 as our Operational Administrator and wasted absolutely no time whipping the role into shape. With a strong background in customer-facing roles — including front-of-house experience at a busy high-street restaurant brand — Mallika knows exactly what great service looks like. Calm under pressure and naturally people-focused, she brings that same energy to supporting both our candidates and clients. If something needs sorting, chasing, or smoothing out, she’s already on it. As part of Mallika's career pathway, Twentysix is proudly sponsoring Mallika through her Digital Marketing Degree Apprenticeship, and we’re genuinely excited to see how her growing digital expertise will shape the business. Investing in our people is a big part of who we are, and watching Mallika develop her skills while making such a positive impact has been brilliant to see. Outside of work, Mallika is a self-confessed foodie, avid traveller, and — brace yourself — a passionate Arsenal fan. Yes, she says it confidently and without hesitation. Football allegiances aside, we’re incredibly lucky to have her on the team and grateful for the energy, positivity, and quiet determination she brings every single day.

Franco McDonnell

Franco grew up surrounded by his family’s restaurant businesses, so it’s safe to say hospitality was in his DNA long before he hit his teenage years— developing a love for cooking that would shape his career. After training at catering college, he kicked things off in the sunny South of France (because if you’re going to start somewhere, why not there?!). There, he sharpened his skills, embraced the pace of professional kitchens, and returned to the UK, further building his experience across restaurants and pubs. In his early 20s, Franco volunteered and discovered a passion for providing nutritious meals to the elderly. That experience led to several years working in care homes, where he combined his culinary skills with a genuine desire to make a difference. Now at Twentysix Recruitment, Franco brings that same energy and insight into his role. Working and supporting our clients in the Public Sector, using his hands-on industry experience to truly understand the needs of both clients and candidates. Having been there himself, he knows what great looks like — and what it takes to deliver it. Outside of work, Franco can usually be found in front of his Xbox, cooking for family (still very much the food guy), or passionately cheering on the mighty Tottenham Hotspur — a level of loyalty and optimism that we can only admire

Debralina Taneva

Debbie began her recruitment career in 2014 with a high-street catering agency in North London, there, she built her experience across permanent recruitment in both the private household and technology sectors, before joining Twentysix Recruitment in January 2025. Starting as a Resourcer, Debbie focussed on growing the pool of catering talent across the South, North and Government divisions. In June 2025, she was promoted to Service Consultant, taking on a more hands-on role supporting both candidates and clients across the South region. Since April 2026, Debbie has expanded her responsibilities further, now also looking after the North region alongside her colleagues, helping support clients and candidates across both areas of the business. Debbie is known for her attention to detail and her determination to stay on top of things. Outside of work, Debbie is passionate about dancing, especially Latin and Ballroom and in the autumn months can be found in front of the TV watching Strictly…’SEVEN!!’

James Shepherd

We welcomed James to the team in late Jan 26’ to take up a more client focussed role, to develop new and existing business relationships. James has worked in education since graduating, building his career around supporting young people and helping them grow both academically and personally. Alongside teaching, James has also spent a number of years working within elite football environments, starting at Preston North End before moving on to Burnley, Manchester United and now Manchester City, where he currently works as a scout. James’ talent for relationship management and rapport building caught our eye, along with his track record of managing teams, displaying the ability to adapt, to apply his exacting standards, innovative edge and a desire to improve and succeed. At home, family life keeps James busy. He enjoys playing golf, taking his son to the driving range and football, heading to Burnley games with his daughter, and spending quality time with his wife, children and wider family. James has an unusually high pain threshold, something that comes in handy as a lifelong Burnley fan!

Julia Rodrigues

Julia started at Twentysix in October 2024 in the role of Operational Administrator. Before joining the team, Julia worked as a Sales Associate at Victoria’s Secret, where she sharpened her skills in customer service, sales, and problem-solving in a fast-paced retail environment. It was there Julia developed her strong interpersonal skills and a knack for building instant rapport with customers. Julia has since traded women’s underwear for catering attire and is now the first point of contact for our candidates and clients alike, communicating across the various teams within the business and keeping all things Operational on track! Outside of work, Julia can be found spending time with family and friends, eating out whenever possible (preferably somewhere serving pasta), indulging in a good romcom, doing a bit of shopping, or catching up on reality TV. Julia and her partner recently bought a new house, so most of their spare time — and money — is currently being lovingly thrown into the bottomless pit that is home ownership

Clare Rance

Clare is one of the newest members of the Twentysix team, taking on the role of Business Administrator, making a triumphant return to the working world after taking time out to raise her two girls — arguably the most demanding management role of all! Before perfecting the art of school runs and snack negotiations, Clare led a team at a credit card company, where balancing priorities, spinning plates, and calmly handling the unexpected were all part of the daily routine. Thankfully, those skills transfer seamlessly to both recruitment and parenting! Clare has a deep appreciation for the finer things in life — namely, a hot cup of tea and a rare, uninterrupted five-minute sit-down. When she’s not expertly coordinating family logistics, she likes to squeeze in some exercise, whether that’s a determined treadmill run or a quick sprint on the bike (often fuelled by sheer willpower and minimal sleep). Family adventures are high-energy affairs, usually involving the zoo, theme parks, bike rides, or wholesome country walks — because apparently relaxing weekends are overrated. She’s also a big fan of live music, a great concert, and a nice meal out… ideally one she can finish while it’s still warm. We’re delighted to have Clare on board — organised, energetic, and more than capable of juggling whatever comes her way (even if she’d quite like that cup of tea first)

Max

Max joined the Twentysix team in April 2020 as an eight-week-old pup and has been running the place ever since. Technically, he’s Head of Morale and Workplace Wellbeing — a role he takes very seriously (especially when treats are involved). While we’ve decided against letting him answer the phones — apparently barking isn’t considered professional in catering and recruitment — he excels in other key business areas. These include meet-and-greet, biscuit quality control, and ensuring no one sits at their desk for too long without a mandatory fuss break. Max operates an open-door policy when it comes to belly rubs (extremely generous of him), although negotiations quickly break down if you attempt to borrow his favourite chew toy. Boundaries are important in any high-performing team! When he’s not conducting office patrols, he can be found stationed at the window in his dual role as Chief Security Officer and Head of Wildlife Surveillance — part boat-spotter, part squirrel response unit. Rest assured, nothing gets past him. A loyal colleague, relentless optimist, and undisputed good boy — we honestly don’t know how we managed before him.

REC Members

We are proud to be a member of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), the professional body of the recruitment industry, giving you peace of mind of our exacting standards to ensure we meet the strict codes of conduct and operating policies within the industry. It’s the little touches and making people feel valued that helps a successful boutique hotel or a Michelin star restaurant to stand out from the crowd and it’s these qualities that TwentySix aims to bring to our work regardless of role, location or market we are catering for – we will ensure you receive that individual service. We feel the key to any successful placement or assignment starts with the traditional values of Customer Service, professionalism, expertise and a dedicated, personalised focus – all qualities that drive the work here at TwentySix. We are able to respond effectively to provide quality results, matching the right person with the right position.
