The role of a catering within education is to provide nutritious and value-for-money meals at lunchtime for children. Depending on the school and needs, you could also be expected to undertake other tasks such as preparing food, cooking and serving food and beverages, planning menus following nutrition guidelines, undertaking cashier duties and following food hygiene, health and safety regulations. You will be expected to ensure safe and hygienic handling of the foods prepared, while also ensuring all menus adhere to healthy eating guidelines.
